Could Mushrooms be the Cup represented in Trophies?

I’ve heard something recent doomscrolling on instagram, that the cap of a mushroom would curl at the edges and symbolize a cup shape, the stem being similar to the stem of a trophy.

There is some speculation that the holy grail might have been related to a mushroom because of the curled caps.

There’s some speculation that the fruit in the garden of Eden might have been a mushroom. The ‘fruiting body’ of a mushroom or fungi is the stem and cap that we see, it’s the ‘fruit’ of the mushroom.

It seems like all of these ideas have been touched on by John Marco Allegro, so perhaps his book “in his 1970 book The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross” might have more knowledge on alternative theories to this.

I mean, from my experience getting to know a few psychonauts, psychedelic mushrooms can induce states of consciousness that brings expanded awareness akin to imparting large swathes of wisdom. That might be very similar to the idea or concept of a ‘fruit’ of knowledge.

Also, like, don’t go eating unknown mushrooms and stuff, it’s not for the faint of heart and what you gain might not be something you’re capable of handling or you might get poisoned or something worse. Tread caution and beware unearned wisdom.

Regardless, signs and symbols point to something, and signs and symbols make up words and those-
