Mapping out the idea sphere

Words have meaning, and that meaning itself exists as an idea. So I’ve explored the idea of ideas, or concepts, or meta-narrative stories or ideologies that permeate the substrate of physical reality. There is a world of thought or smoke beyond the world of pure visible smoke and touchable maya that makes up our reality. In philosophical terms, people would call this metaphysics, meta meaning ‘beyond’ and physics relating to the physical. In terms of words, I say that this is meaning- which is a transcendental spirit that isn’t able to be examined by dissecting the physical corpse.

And anyone who is seriously deep into their craft, in an art form, can sort of see these ideas pop up and leave. Like the concept of an inspiration visiting you to see if you’ll take the job, before going to someone else.

In terms of Music and Art, people have a voice or a muse for creating works. That there is a time for a work to manifest it’s physical form.

If you’re a story writer or a joke writer and something pops up into your head, you might frantically try to write it down to capture it for later or else it will fade out into the void. As Naval Ravikant says “Inspiration Is Perishable”.

In another case, Michael Jackson reportedly said, “If I’m not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince,”. That the idea would visit him and if Michael didn’t enact on the idea for a song or artistic piece, it would come out somewhere else and visit other creators to try to manifest itself in our world.

A lot of artists have wrestled with the idea. Arguably, it’s a lot of creatives. Because as a creative, we get this antenna that channels ideas and thoughts, and the more we piece together this sort of mental vision board, the greater the clarity of the piece comes to be. The ultimate goal in putting these ideas together is to create a child, to generate a physical substance or thing that exists in our world (it can also be digital).

“If you have an idea you’re excited about and you don’t bring it to life, it’s not uncommon for the idea to find its voice through another maker. This isn’t because the other artist stole your idea, but because the idea’s time has come.”
Rick Rubin, The Creative Act: A Way of Being

Time stamped for your pleasure, you’re welcome

And that’s the thing, we all have this sort of ability to ‘tune’ into a new product or some desire to create a new thing. Even if that thing isn’t uniquely new, it is something that wants to come into existence.

As a side note, you could see this as a sort of collective subconscious manifesting things. These things are ‘popping’ up into our reality like mushrooms after a storm. This is part of why we say ‘pop culture’, it’s not just popular but it’s popping up, and it relates to societal tendencies.

I pose that there are relays

In my observation of this idea-sphere or noosphere;

I have noted that some smaller creators can create a work, but it’s only feeding the initial nascent steam. That the work is ongoing and isn’t or hasn’t reached it’s peak. That these ideas build momentums and attack/manifest in cycles or waves.

Then other creators corroborate and collaborate with that creative energy and created works, to bring about more ‘content’ or ‘things’ related to this idea or theme or concept.

In mass communications and communications technology, I pose that the noo-sphere is a sort of node like system of inter-tapping web or neural networks that are pervasive or connected into our personal realms of reality or subjective conscious experiences. Meaning, Humans are one of the many types of possible nodes that receive and send out signals, a sort of relay transmitter, and that signal can strengthen or weaken based on the execution of our work.

If an artist does something poorly, then the signal strength is lost or weakened. If an artist does something well, then it inspires more people to repeat that signal or be inspired by that style or work.

To add a littler more nuance; If we don’t act on it or if we do it poorly, the signal can be attenuated. But also if someone sees us do it poorly, it may inspire them to do it better, and thus strengthened. So the idea of ‘poorly’ or ‘well’ is subjective, and I’m not sure what the qualifiers for that are. Because I’ve seen lots of bad or poor ideas catch fire and spread. I’ve also seen good ideas executed so well that no one else wants to compete or try to out-do. . . atleast until the next ‘cycle’.

In another theory for the Gods

There is another idea that gods can be created or apotheosized from concepts.

This theory is that the idea of Ares or Mars being the God of war, was actually a way to personify the concept of war into a person, and making it a God by having it be immaterial.

You know how pixar makes cars or toasters or inanimate objects into people? The theory is that we humans did that to ideas that are metaphysical concepts. That we made these concepts into persons, and because they already exist in the realm of thought or the noosphere, then they become a sort of spirit.

But because we worshiped these spirits and seek guidance to honor and advance the achievements of these spirits. We actually apotheosized or exalted the spirits into a state of godhood.

Which is a rationalized way to conceptualize the idea of mythology and gods as conceptual things. We are afraid of the lava-volcanoes god because the story and mythos is a reminder for what volcanoes literally do.

In the modern age, the new gods are hidden in the conspiracy blanket. Things like Big Corporations, Big Tech, Big Pharma, Military Industrial Complex, Big Oil, or even The Hydra that makes up Oil itself. The point is, there is this unified concept of what is and isn’t a part of the concept, and it’s given this sort of domain or authority that exists in the spirit form or form of ideas in the noosphere.

I mean, you can’t directly go up to punch the volcano god in the face, any more than you can punch Ares or Mars the God of War in the face, any more than you can punch The Oil Hydra that is polluting the planet with black blood extracted from oil rigs. You might be able to punch icons, or symbols of worship like statues or buildings or an oil rig. But that’s not the same thing as punching the concept or idea in the physicality.

Thus, one theory for gods, is that they are personification of metaphysical concepts that permeate reality. Things like wealth, war, love, light, darkness, truth, lies, snakes, lions, humans. Etc. There is a concept that humans have their own personal gods, and each tribe worships their own form of god, therefore that’s technically true in a sense. Crusades and whatnot are the result of such worship and disputes with perceived iconoclasts.

Some related terms or concepts are theomorphism, numinization, apotheosis, Ergregore, Collective Tulpas, and deification. I’m sure there’s more words that relate to the same meaning as what I’m trying to describe. The personification of mythologies or sagas.

The Crazy Take

I know, the things mentioned already are pretty out there, but they make logical sense. (atleast to me, and are arguably self evident theories, not to be construed with material facts because we’re literally describing metaphysics).

This next thing isn’t logical, and it’s a crazy take, but hear me out.

If you engage and interact with something and create it or manifest it in the universe. Then regardless if it is observed or your creation is interacted with directly by others, it still somehow affects the universe. This of course is my theory and it’s complete conjecture and is partially woo-woo.

I don’t know how to describe it mechanically, but it’s probably easier to envision the idea that all time and space exist in a perpetual here and now state, and that any time you engage with reality in a specific way, even if you make an article or video that has zero views currently, you still have some non-zero impact to the entirety of your own reality as well as the shared reality. As if your own reality is an algorithm and that algorithm is a smaller subset of the shared reality’s algorithm, and your creation is an input that feeds tertiary effects.

Again, this is a crazy take and isn’t grounded on a rational or verifiable basis. It’s easier to conceptualize when you comprehend the idea of ‘everywhere everything everytime and everyplace all at once’.

But I pose that if you create something, even if no one sees it, or if it becomes popular long after you’re dead, it has this sort of strange loop manifestive property that is recursive in nature. You know how you wouldn’t exist if any single one of your ancestors died before they helped give birth to your specific lineage? That’s awfully fickle to imagine especially if you contend with the idea that time isn’t static and that temporal events live or exist in a non-linear or non-concrete crystalized form in a state of flux.

Again, I’m going into the crazy end here, so let’s rewind a bit.

Let’s just pretend that some ideas are broadcasting itself into the void of the entire universe, like it’s a ripple in a still pond (for simplicity, even though the still pond is not still). And let’s also pretend that you creating something from an idea, even if you leave it in your closet, creates a sort of entanglement effect. Like scooping a wave from the ripple. The mere act of creating, also creates a ripple that can attenuate or corroborate with the maiden ripple.

I don’t have any other way to explain this, nor do I expect you to believe this theory, since this is a hypothesis I’ve made from observations and we don’t have a way to measure this abstract line of logic while simultaneously being restrained to the 3rd or 4th or even the 5th dimensional space (depending on what you mean by dimension).

I feel like describing a Rubix Cube with color blind 2D language.

It might be easy to explain this if you view these ideas as transcendental and that time and space are illusions. This is a presupposition that can help conceptualize the theory I’m trying to grasp. Please consider this as conjecture and not material fact.

So, consider this as a fringe theory, like the lawless borderlands or the frontier of me mapping out some noo-sphere dynamics.

If you’re in the quantitative analysis and are looking for predictable future trends to make money off of this, I imagine there’s a market for it. But of course, it’s all risky and gambling and I don’t even have a concrete idea of how to plot or measure this sort of impact or reverberation without a large matrix of data sets.

Epilogue

The main meat of this article, is that I view that we humans are repeater relays. That we are not living in isolation as an island upon ourselves, but we’re part of a node network system of collaboration within the universe. The whole, ‘you can’t fall out of the universe’ type jazz. As such, when you work with ideas, and meaning, and words, and concepts, that you become more aware of the signals that you’re tuning into, or channeling.

Like a poet trying to name an ineffable feeling with a box called ‘words’.

And on that note, be aware of intrusive thoughts or the call of the void or some other thoughts. That your words and actions and things have meaning, and this meaning or concept or meta-physical idea has some interplay between other meanings, concepts, or metaphysical ideas.

I pose to you that the idea of concepts and meaning transcend the corporeal form and that they create a new layer of almost non-digital-space of information that encapsulate each person’s mind as well as the culture and languages and hyper-realities that we construct from our upbringings and symbolism that we are de-sign-ed or sub-scribed under. Hence;

Words Mean Things
