On the word ‘Arch’

The word ‘Arch’ is used as a prefix like in Archangel or suffix as in Monarchy.

An Arch etymologically relates to the old latin word ‘Archon’ which means ruler, and can also mean ‘over’ or ‘overseer’ in a way. In ancient Greek or Hellenic, Archy means to govern or to rule.

A Monarch, is a mono- (single) -archy (ruler. A Biarchy would be Bi- (two) rulers, like in Sparta with their Two kings (Procles and Eurysthenes). An Oligarchy would be Oli- (Many) -archy, for many rulers.

Often times we talk about Archs in architecture, the Arch can also reference the keystone in an Arch, the keystone is the last piece that holds the entire structure together. The Architect then is someone that builds the key stones and pieces to fabricate a unique structure or Arch.

In a way, an Archon can then mean to be a ruler or a keystone holding an order or construct or ‘societal matrix’ in its place.

In that same sense, the Rulers exist in a hierarchy, (Higher Archy), meaning that the rulers are the ones to hold the current order or fabric of society together. The Rulers, the Archons, are the ones that hold the dominion for the current world order and kingdom order. Sometimes the king is replaced with an impotent son and the kingdom falls, similar to the meme of ‘Hard Times, Create Strong Men, Strong Men create Good Times, Good times create weak men’. Often times if the sword is not sharpened as strong as the wit, the kingdoms’ rule is to go to ruin, leaving space for a new order, a new Archon to ascend the throne.

And then for all else types of governance, a Shadow Puppet Government would have a false Archon with many Oligarchies pulling the strings in the background.

If the government or rule or order falls to ruins, it razes itself to fertilize the ashes of a new empire. An Anarchy, is An- (not) -archy, meaning no-rule or not-ruled. For some reason or another, There is a ebb and flow of Order between the Old Guard and the New Guard, like a breath in and out, allowing for a sudden gap of rule or no-archons as the Archons switch place.

How long an Anarchy last is not dependent on how long an Archy lasts. They all vary and both exist in the universe. There is no set lifetime for an Order or an Empire, just as there is no set lifetime for chaos and rule-less societies. Desolate or not, Order finds a way, and Chaos too, as they dance the forever dance in changing places like the Yin and Yang.

Archdemons and Archangels are then the high overseers or high positional authorities within their (i guess) race or being. Their existence has a hierarchy itself. It seems Nature has created a dualistic or difference between things allowing for ordering or sequencing creating hierarchies of all types. People who are stronger, faster, taller, shorter, etc. The dualities for which way the pyramid or pentagram stands can vary depending on perspective.

Archbishops, Archpriests, ArchDukes, and ArchDuchesses, and many more titles carry a degree of authority with them as the overseers for oversight over a specific domain, field, or region. This domain may be tangible, it may be mental, it may be clerical in nature, or otherwise.

A Patriarchy or Matriarchy is based on the Patrician or Matrician, the idea of the Male lead or Female lead.

Surprisingly enough, my quick research for the word ‘Archaeology’ comes from ‘the study of the Ancient ones’. Perhaps Archaeology may have meant to be the study of the Archons, in a lighter sense, it could be the study of Empires or Kings, in an esoteric sense, it could be the study of the Principalities or Metaphysical powers that exist. Perhaps it’s a mixture of both, the cosmic forces, and the Matrices of Old Antiquity.

You’ll often find that the Universe does enjoy it’s puns, and that words mean things, and that the meaning of words is also connected to the relation of words to their origins and contemporary uses. It’s as if words themselves have DNA and are expressed memetically, if you have the wisdom and knowledge available, you may be able to trace past and future expressions of words. Orthonyms and etymology as well as neologisms and new slang.

Epilogue,

I’m merely commenting on variations of how the word ‘Arch’ relates to many other derivatives of itself. I have no qualms with the current or old or new rulers or Archons. I care not, truly.

If anything, do not deny the power that you have, for you too can hold the pen and wield it mightily. You could be an Archon of sorts, not that you should seek that status game or fame. All of those that seek to maintain or create a new Order are driven by the feelings of an Archon, to Architecturally design a new order. A new Systema or Matrix.

In truth, we all play a hand and will the world into the way we all see it to be. A movement is nothing without action. A Dream is not made real by merely wishing. So don’t discount the power you hold as you impart ripples throughout the cosmos, and also note that others too hold that power as many ‘wills’ are shaping the ‘architecture’ of reality.

There is also the idea of Dominion in a Spiritual warfare sense, where religions with various gods fight for theocracy and domain. Essentially a contest to see whose god is mightier. The Crusades are such an example, and there are plenty of Holy wars occurring to this day, some physical, many spiritual. Take it for what it is. – It is what it is.
