On ‘Rooting’ for eachother

Nowadays in the contemporary world, we say we ‘root’ for our teams at baseball or football games.

‘Rooting’ has become synonymous with cheering and supporting.

Although the word Rooting meant to be rooted in with the side or team, to know them since their beginning or support them since the beginning. Whether that beginning was yours or theirs, it’s not clear.

It’s similar to the word ‘understand’ in the sense that ‘understand’ translates to ‘stand under’ or ‘under a standard’ and a ‘standard’ is a ‘banner’. To side with and be under a flag or team.

So to root for a team meant to be with them at their roots.

Nowadays, as words change, things like ‘rooting’ and ‘understand’ mean something else. While still, these words mean different things in legalese or in the court of law.

Epilogue

Just thought I’d share some interesting things I learned over the last week. Seems there’s more to our nature than as it simply appears. It’s as if humans have their roots in the druidic or shamanistic practices of long ago.

Perhaps one day we’ll come to know and reclaim our roots, well, I’m rooting for the Planet and Humans. We’re all on the same team technically, anyways.
