Everyone does Therapy, Not everyone sees a Therapist

Everyone does Therapy, Not everyone sees a Therapist

These words came about when consoling a friend thinking about going back to a therapist. I said these words to give her courage to honor the idea of therapy and to reassure that there was no shame in seeking professional guidance.

There are many types of therapy, in the modern internet slang, people call this a ‘cope’ or ‘copium’. People seek to vices to assuage their worries, and some rather target the ailment or curse in the roots. Some forms of therapy allow for people to have everlasting results, while others help people to get by. Perhaps we are in need of both, for those that want to sit with their worries, and for those that want to change (and internal Alchemically transmute) how they perceive their worries.

One of the hardest things working in a therapeutic practice, is the idea of human ecology. If you help people to heal and repair and fix themselves and then they go back right into their world and reality in which broke them, they might do one of a few things. They might have a drastically changed world view and change their life, keep on living, or succumb to the stresses and break down again.

It’s difficult to heal (just enough) a warrior of their traumas and send them back into war.

Arguably, it’s pretty fucked up.

The other hard thing in a therapeutic practice is the idea of ethics and morals, because a lot of people who practice aren’t in it for the healing or making the world a better place. So, be wise and wary of charlatans.

I digress,

Therapy takes on many forms. People consume and drink soma, or other medicines prescribed or over the counter as their therapeutic release. Some people take showers, baths, and even visit the hot springs to unwind. Others take vacation and travel to escape from their old world and see for themselves how life looks in another realm. Some people paint, listen to music, or even find destructive outlets like a wrecking-room to unleash their emotions.

There’s a lot of forms of therapy, even writing notes and posting this article is a form of therapy for me. For I am able to concisely put to words my thoughts and feelings to formulate a stronger mental frame for myself, and in the process of doing so, I leave evidence for future readers to see my thoughts as well as for myself.

Some of the best works, whether in writing, art, poetry, comedy, or otherwise, is done for the one who’s making it.

“The Musician makes music for the listeners, and the first listener is the Musician.”

So take heed in knowing, that there is no shame in having therapy or therapeutic practices. For we ALL do therapy in some way. Hopefully your practice is meditative and healing and hopefully you’ll allow me and join me in honoring your choice of therapeutic modality.

For you do, in fact, have a choice.

Epilogue,

One of the few things that popped in my conversations this past week. Thought I’d share to help other people interested.

I’m also looking into the Shamanistic and other Medicine Healing Modalities and relating that to the modern day therapist. A Therapy session is essentially a guide, much like a Shaman is a guide, and a good one will help you overcome issues and internal struggles and emotions and thoughts.

Just keep in mind, that in the spirit realm, there’s also healing to be done. So do your work, your dream work, and also purify yourself to help yourself. There’s a lot of things connected, like diet and sleep. Neglect not the body in which you dwell, for it’s like a temple or something. lol, enjoy life!
