Nawat Common Tongue, Bridge Language

The Natives and the indigenous people of America spoke a common tongue called Nawat.

It’s estimated that the natives came to Americas around 10,000 or so years ago and planted the forest and trees and did control burns as well as land management to grow the bountiful land that exists.

The stories of many native tribes speak of a congregation of many tribes coming together to go over the management of the land, the planting of the trees, and being with nature.

They spoke in a common tongue called Nawat.

This is all a story I heard from someone who has heard the same story passed down to them, and I’m merely sharing this version of what I’ve learned and received. Oral tradition is in that way, and I’m now writing it, not to preserve it per se, but to retell the story online. This isn’t the final story, nor is it the complete truth.

Epilogue,

I thought it interesting that there were common tongues or “Lingua Francas”, “bridge languages”, common language, trade language, auxiliary language, vehicular language, or link language between many tribes. I always suspected this, but I personally only have stumbled upon this via oral tradition. Hearing someone tell me this story and confirming my suspicions is a rather enlightening feeling, of course, that’s if it’s true.

Soothsayers and Naysayers exist, discernment is key, and objective dances behind subjective shadows.

It truly helps in communication if we all speak similar languages and are on similar pages of understanding, that way we may collaborate and move forward towards similar goals rather than division, argumentum, misunderstandings, violence, and war.
